Elizabeth Goodman of Kotori Technologies, LLC receives Rosser Thrash Award

North Charleston, SC – October 31, 2018 – The North Charleston Rotary Club Awards Elizabeth Goodman, of Kotori Technologies, LLC the Rosser Thrash Community Service Award

Rosser Thrash Award
The North Charleston Rotary established this service award, only a few years back, to honor the late Rosser Thrash. He was a well-respected local businessman and community leader, known for his charitable contributions throughout the state of South Carolina for more than 50 years.
Thrash is best known for his genius development of the Rotary Roundball Classic, introduced in 1993, which has since gone on to become a
nationally revered local/invitational high school holiday basketball tournament benefiting Communities in Schools of the Charleston Area. In 1994, Rosser Thrash was recognized by the American Red Cross as The Rotarian of the Year. Today, his fellow North Charleston Club Rotarian’s offer this award, in his honor to the member that reflects his love for community service and overall dedication and commitment to their local club.

Award Recipient: Elizabeth Goodman
It comes as no surprise that our very own Elizabeth Goodman received this honor in recognition of her selfless giving to the club Service Above Self. In her first year of membership, she was voted the Rotarian of the Year 2014-15. Since then, her contributions have continued to excel above and beyond an average member. Not only did she head up her local club in the infamous Charleston Duck Race, she took the time to restructure the club’s grant requests and approval processes.

In 2016 & 2017 Elizabeth led the Rotary Roundball Classic volunteers. Her nomination came from an anonymous member and made official by majority vote from the board. Moreover, she has completed all three parts of the Rotary Leadership Institute in
2017-18 and was recently bestowed the Paul Harris Fellow Award in 2018. Elizabeth is currently a director and the upcoming President-Nominee for the North Charleston Rotary Club.

Rotary Roundball Classic
“In addition to providing an exciting high school basketball tournament, the Rotary Roundball Classic is held each year to raise money to support the Scholarship Fund of the Rotary Club of North Charleston and selected charities. Since 1962, the Rotary of
North Charleston has awarded 264 scholarships totaling $430,000. Multiple four-year scholarships are awarded each year to deserving local students to attend colleges and universities in South Carolina.”
