Ask Neadom
Introduction
Hey guys, today on Ask Neadom, we’re taking a look behind the curtain to check out what I use day to day to help me be more efficient at what I do. Stay tuned.
Welcome
Welcome to another week of Ask Neadom. Today, we’re going to take a peek behind the curtain and look at what I use on my desktop to help run my business and stay productive.
Neadom uses a lot of tools, but I want to highlight four that really help me stay on track every day.
1. Snagit – Screen Capture Tool
The first tool might surprise you: a screenshot application.
I use Snagit, made by TechSmith. There are plenty of options out there, but Snagit lets me take full or partial screenshots—whether it’s a square, a window, or the entire screen.
You copy and paste those images into emails, annotate them with arrows and notes, and send them off.
A picture says a thousand words. I use it to communicate with my team, vendors, or even to document error messages from clients.
It’s also great for creating internal how-to documents. If you’re a business owner or operations manager, imagine how powerful a visual can be when building processes.
2. OneNote – Note-Taking App
Next up is a note-taking application.
I use OneNote because I’m in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, but you can use Evernote or Apple Notes—whatever syncs across your devices. Neadom likes OneNote because he can take pictures while I’m on-site with a client and have them sync back to my computer.
You can draw, annotate, and organize everything easily.
I use a Note 8 phone with a stylus, so I can draw directly on the screen.
This saves me from having to retype notes or search for paperwork. Everything is digital and ready to share.
3. Password Manager
The third tool I use every day is a password manager.
I use RoboForm, but there are others like Dashlane, 1Password, and LastPass.
These tools help manage all your passwords and generate strong, complex ones you don’t have to remember.
I keep track of frequently used passwords and store the rest securely.
If I forget one, it’s there.
Some password managers even integrate two-factor authentication, which adds another layer of security.
4. Group Chat App
The last tool is a group chat app.
We use Slack in the office, but we’re transitioning to Microsoft Teams.
Think of it as text messaging for business—like Skype on steroids.
It’s a quick, informal way to communicate with your team.
You can break conversations into channels by topic, share files, and even have fun with gifs.
It keeps everyone connected and organized.
Conclusion
Those are four tools I use every day to stay productive:
- Snagit for screen captures
- OneNote for note-taking
- RoboForm for password management
- Slack or Teams for team communication
I hope that helps you out in your business.
